my new laptop

i just arrived home at 10:00PM from a dinner with the management crew from all business units of the Dalian office. i can't wait to get my hands on my new laptop for the first time. this is the very first real deal that i have spent a lot for myself out of my hardwork ever since i got a job. i so love it!!! apart from it's lightweight, it's super fast. and man, i love the keypads - so cute and sleek.

i bought a new laptop not because i wanted to but because i needed one. my old laptop breathe its last breath 2 weeks ago and so i needed one to replace it. i was able to find a backup laptop from the office though and even thought of not buying a new one anymore since the office laptop will work fine for me. yes, im practical! but this one's really special - because God worked on it!

just a week before my old laptop screwed up, most of my friends criticized it as how bulky it was and the screen got a lot of vertical lines on it already. they all want me to replace it with a new one. then that night it got ridiculed by, i prayed and asked the Father if it's ok for me to buy a new one. these past few months, i've learned lifting the things i want to happen up to Him and just wait. at that point, i was able to lift 3 things up to Him already: send my parents here in Dalian in my own expense, spend christmas with my relatives in Australia, or buy a new laptop. and about the laptop, it was just a one night prayer because im still satisfied with my old one - it was a Toshibal Satellite A60. then came the week after.

the week after, it suddenly shut adown while i was watching the Green Zone movie. i did everything i could to revive it and not even reinstalling the system does the job as it shuts off in the middle of the installation. for the time being, i used a Dell Latitude D610 laptop from the office. this laptop is used for training and no one actually takes it home so i borrowed it with the consent of our department assistant. i did a few research on which good laptops are in the market. i was already interested with Dell Latitude E5410. i even had a chat on a sales representative online and asked questions of how and where i can buy it. i even asked my friends if they know someone from the US coming to Dalian as it is so much cheaper to buy there compared in buying here in China. but at the back of my mind, i still am hesitating whether to buy a new one or not. i mean, i have an office laptop to use, why should i buy a new one? then last week came.

last week, thursday, the company's daily digest topic was about this new Toshiba Portege R705 laptop. it turns out that its specifications are similar to that of the Dell Latitude D5410, only lighter, more memory, and CHEAPER!!! after doing some research on the specifications and customer reviews, i drooled of wishing to have one and posted a status in my facebook. then, in less than 3hrs, a friend of mine from the US offered to do me a favor. apparently, our team from the US are coming here but i didn't have the guts to ask them to do me the favor since i haven't met them personally yet. and this friend actually works for them as a consultant and the same friend who trained me in using a new technology for cloud-computing while he was here for a short business trip. anyway, so he offered to buy me one the next day and send it to the airport as fast as he can as the US team leaves early next morning. i even told him not to rush it that if no one's leaving later than friday then he doesn't have to buy one anymore. miraculously, God worked on him. he was able to buy the laptop early in the morning and sent it to the airport as fast as he could! and now, this is what im using in writing this blog!

im actually used to making things happen my way. i have always believed that i can do anything i want to do as long as i belive in myself that i can do it. however, when i met God, he showed me ways that i'd be able to realize that i cannot do anything without Him. i had some rough experiences when i started believing the Father - i mean, He tested me. it was just a few months ago that i learned to lift everything to Him. and guess what, He gave back a lot consecutively. He made me a team leader. He answered my prayers and helped my parents to lessen their burdens. He allowed me to buy a new laptop. and just today, the latest, He let me pass my first certification exam. im so thankful for everything He has done to me and am even thankful that He chose me and more so for teaching me how to lift everything to Him. praise the Lord for He is good all the time! lifting everything up to Him and have faith in waiting sure is worthy. <hmmm and so im thinking i better start lifting up a salary raise request from now on haha>
